The US Virgin islands are US territories, and thus no passport is need. However, that only applies if the flight there is a non-stop or stops at another US ports. If the flight stops in a non-US territory, and then continues to one of the US Virgin Islands, then you will need a passport.

Contact the National Immigration Association at
immigration.gov and ask them….or look them up in the yellow pages phonebook and call them and ask.

You are required to use your passport now whenever you are traveling, especially if your traveling overseas;even if its in the USA. And if your going to the British Virgin Island for a quick visit your going to need your passport.
